The Portuguese Moke
In 1986, Austin Rover Portugal introduced the most significant technical revision in the Moke's history. A full roll-over structure, inertia-reel seat belts, 12" wheels and improved structural strength transformed the classic into a safer model, ready for everyday use. A true icon, made in Portugal.
A Strong Connection to Portugal
The Mini Moke found a new life through production in Portugal, where it received successive improvements — greater safety, robustness and build quality. Over seven years of production (1983-1989), 8,173 units were built, more than 7,100 of which were exported to 32 countries. Portugal became one of the great homes of the Moke.
The Evolution
The 1986 revision not only improved safety — it also raised structural quality and mechanical reliability, resulting in a Moke that was more solid, more stable, and ready for daily use.
The Legacy Continues
The Portuguese Mini Moke isn't just a classic — it's living history, built through evolution and identity.
